Ryūken then rushes out of the house with Masaki still in his arms, leaving Izumi shouting at him and begging for him to come back. She states that she doesn't know, and has been trying to get in touch with him. Ryūken lifts up Masaki and asks his mother where his father is. Izumi is the first to notice the cause: a Hollow-like hole that appeared on her chest. Masaki interrupts, telling Ryūken to not try to take the fall for her, but collapses mid-sentence. As Izumi and Masaki are arguing, Ryūken attempts to take the blame for the incident. Masaki denies it, to which Izumi states that she has proof. Izumi scolds Masaki for breaking the Quincy rules and saving a Shinigami from a Hollow. Several days later, Izumi greets Masaki as she comes home from school, and reveals she is disappointed in her. Ryūken inquires about his father, and Izumi replies by saying that she does not know when he will return. Ryūken then enters and tells his mother that she is being too loud, to which she responds by saying that she is going to her room and that she will have Ryūken's food prepared. Masaki says that she is making slow progress, to which Izumi reprimands her, saying that Masaki is the last of the Kurosaki family, and that she is supposed to be training as a Quincy. One day, during dinner, Izumi inquires to Masaki about how school is going, as well as her Seiren. History Īt some point, Izumi adopted Masaki Kurosaki into the Ishida family, so that Masaki would be protected as one of the last Quincy, and so that one day she would marry her son, Ryūken Ishida, and keep the Quincy Bloodline of the Ishida family pure, due to the Quincy being an endangered race. Īccording to her son, Izumi is frustrated that her husband, Sōken, spends a lot of time away from his family, and she vents that frustration upon Masaki. She also cared deeply about her son, Ryūken, and was distraught when he left their residence with the infected Masaki Kurosaki. She cared greatly about keeping the Quincy Bloodline of the Ishida family pure, due to the Quincy being an endangered race. Izumi was a stern woman, who took her responsibilities as matriarch of the Ishida family seriously. She had a scar on her lower calf of the left leg. She wore a cardigan along with a inner-shirt and long skirt or a maxi dress. Izumi was a black-haired woman with short hair.
